Sun in Quarterhorse – April 20 – May 20 The Reading The grounds settle heavy at the bottom of your cup this month, Quarterhorse, heavy because someone has been counting what's yours. Nothing is missing (yet), but everything has been noted. Quarterhorse knows the difference between a neighbour checking in and an inventory. You've been told the survey is routine, the list is harmless, the people with clipboards at the fence are your friends, they just needed help finding you. The Quarterhorse does not argue with clipboards. The Quarterhorse notices. Venus rules your sign, which means value is your domain: what something is worth, what it costs to keep, what it costs to lose. The Quarterhorse is asked this month to notice that being known by strangers has a price. This Month's Transit Centurion Eclipse persists without end. A court has ordered the list taken down. The man with the list has said no. Earth signs feel this most because earth signs understand property, and the list is property of a kind, assembled out of you, without your consent. Watch for the False Familiar transit through summer. A stranger may message you or invite you to follow. They know about you, but they don’t know you. QUARTERHORSE (Apr 20 – May 20) — Venus suggests the body knows before the mind does. Trust the flinch, but don’t bolt. The flinch is older than the news. Numbers: 4, 22, 36 — Pastures with Tumbleweed. Tolerates RigPig.
CHINOOK (May 21 – Jun 20) — You've been warm and cold in the same afternoon. Neither was a lie. Mercury suggests you stop apologizing for either. Numbers: 3, 17, 60 — Confides in Magpie. Won't be pinned down by Bridge.
AMMONITE (Jun 21 – Jul 22) — The shell remembers the ocean. The ocean does not remember the shell. Spiral inward this month and let the surface forget you. Numbers: 2, 11, 88 — Keeps company with Cactus. Has been waiting on Sturgalope for some time.
WHISKEY (Jul 23 – Aug 22) — You are not as charming as the second pour suggests. Pour the third for someone else. Numbers: 5, 21, 40 — Shares a truck with RigPig. Owes Sturgalope an apology. RIGPIG (Aug 23 – Sep 22) — The work was always going to outlast the speeches about the work. Show up. The shift doesn't care who's in office. Numbers: 6, 12, 24 — Shares a truck with Whiskey. Not currently speaking to Bridge.
BRIDGE (Sep 23 – Oct 22) — You span two sides that increasingly refuse to acknowledge each other. This is the job. Stand still. Hold. Numbers: 7, 33, 100 — On speaking terms with Chinook. Has restraining order against Goose.
COAL (Oct 23 – Nov 21) — What is buried is still operating. You know the art of being still, yet full of energy. Don’t get burned. Numbers: 8, 13, 64 — Remembers Ammonite. Will not be in the same room as Magpie.
TUMBLEWEED (Nov 22 – Dec 21) — The wind is not your friend. The wind is not your enemy. The wind is the wind. Roll. Numbers: 9, 27, 52 — Travels with Goose. Often has plans interrupted by Chinook.
STURGALOPE (Dec 22 – Jan 19) — You are the proof that hybrid things survive. Do not let anyone tell you which half is the real one. You’re real, dammit! Numbers: 10, 19, 71 — Was last seen with Ammonite. Avoiding Whiskey.
MAGPIE (Jan 20 – Feb 18) — You see a shiny thing. Tell someone. They will not believe you until you stand outside their window and squawk it incessantly. Numbers: 7, 13, 47 — Trades secrets with Chinook. Has been blocked by Bridge.
CACTUS (Feb 19 – Mar 20) — The Cactus is juicy. The Cactus is also armoured. You have been both at once your whole life and you are tired of choosing. Numbers: 3, 18, 55 — Holds water for Ammonite. Won't return Tumbleweed's calls.
